Objects of interest The Font: its origin is considered by some to be Saxon. It has carved thirteenth century arches and the bowl is deep and lead lined. The covers were broken during the Civil war and the present cover is possibly seventeenth century. The Parish Chest: this oak chest, which dates from the fourteenth century, has a carved front in the decorated style. Pews: three rows of ancient pews are to be found in the west end of the church, close to the organ. South Door: This was the original main door. It retains an early dated lock and key. Wall Paintings: Traces of these have been found over the South Door, in the western end of the North Aisle and the Sanctuary. Rood Screen: This remains in quite good order despite losing its cross and statues during the time of Oliver Cromwell. Chalice and Paten: the silver chalice and paten, which date back to 1628, can no longer be kept in the church. The Pulpit: is almost a hundred years old and dates from 1907.
