Corpus Christi (in the octave) - Sunday 25th May 2005

Today being the Sunday in the Octave of Corpus Christi we were again able to celebrate with a procession
of the Most Holy Sacrament round the Church prior to Benediction at the end of Mass.


This week there was also another Birthday... Fr Reg is a great friend of St Mary's and joined
us today to concelebrate at this great feast.

He has kindly given us a disc of his great pictures many of which were taken from within the Sanctuary.

Corpus Christi - Thursday 22nd May 2008

On Thursday evening we were joined by Fr Stuart Halstead who came to preach
at the Feast of Corpus Christi where we celebrate the gift of The Eucharist.
The Blessed Sacrament is solemnly processed around the Church after Mass encased within
the monstrance. Usually we would also process round the outside of the Church but the building
work and the presence of large holes in the Churchyard this year made this a little dangerous
especially as the front of the procession walks backwards to remain facing the Sacrament!




The service ended with Benediction, where the Priest in Cope and Humeral Veil makes the sign of the Cross
over the congregation with the Blessed Sacrament exposed within the monstrance.

Corpus Christi 2007

Corpus Christi, Sunday 10th June (in the Octave)

Two services for Corpus Christi guest preachers at both of them, many thanks to Fr Richard Franklin on the Thursday
and to Fr Reg Rolf on the Sunday for this most special and solemn of Feasts. (A big thanks also to our organist Joan
who can be found week in & week out making a terrific contribution to our to our traditional sung services).
Thursday 7th June - Corpus Christi

A big thanks to friends currently studying at Mirfield who assisted during these services.
Our prayers are with them as they pursue their vocation.

Corpus Christi 2006

1st Sunday after Trinity in the Octave of Corpus Christi

Sunday 18th June we celebrated the feast of Corpus Christi for a second time with further procession
of the Sacrament around our Church. More photos to follow hopefully of the ceremony during the service within the
Church when we have processed the video.

Corpus Christi 15th June 2006

Thursday 15th June. Father Wealands Bell the Chaplain at Aldenham School joined Father Yenda and the servers and congregation of St Mary's. They gathered to celebrate the festival of Corpus Christi with a Solemn Eucharist with procession and Benediction on a beautiful summer evening. Thanks again to George for the photographs.
