A very traditional service with Christmass carols and
readings and the bringing of of the Bambino to the stable and the blessing of
the crib. The service then continues with the first Mass of Christmass. It's
Christmass Day.
Christmass Eve - Children's Carol Service & Blessing
of the Stable
A great turn out in the afternoon at the children's
carol service as we get ready for tomorrow. Favourite carols were sung and we
blessed the stable ready for the birth of the baby Jesus tonight. Fr Yenda
also gave all present a 'sprinkle' with Holy Water 'while he had it handy'
which was enjoyed by all. This year there was a record number of Angels
presented by the children for the tree at the end of the service and we finished the afternoon off with a chat, drink and mince pie. (Oops I don't seem to have a good pic of the tree with
it's Angels! if anyone has one I'd love a copy to post one on the page
please) Thanks also to my Mum for playing the piano for
today's service and all the other children's services throughout the year.
Advent 4 - Parish Carol Service - 20th December 2009
It was a really icy and snowy day so we
had to do without our organist at today's services. Fr Yenda stepped into the
breach running back and forth from the Sanctuary and the piano for the
morning Mass and played the organ for the carol service in the afternoon. Only a couple of pics here, Michael with one of the
readings and a rare photo backwards to the choir singing one of the carols.
Advent 3 - Gaudete Sunday - 13th December 2009
Gaudete Sunday or Rejoice Sunday is the Sunday in
Advent when rose pink is used to dress the Altar and the Priests Vestments. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice; let your forbearance be
known to all, for the Lord is near at hand; have no anxiety about anything,
but in all things, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your
requests be known to God.
Advent 1 - Toy/gift service - 29th November 2009
The start of a new Church year - the 1st Sunday in advent
sees us in purple again for the penitential period and means that we start
the services with Asperges through until Christmass. (a couple of pics of Fr Yenda 'loading up' I've got a
few more weeks to try and get the actual distribution of the Holy water...
not as easy as it looks) The 11.15 children's service was our toy\gift
service where the children and members of the congregation brought pressies which would be passed on to a local Luton charity to distribute to
children who may not have as happy a Christmass as we may have.
Christmass Time 2008
Some pics from round the Church this Christmass time. The Kings line up ready for next Sunday.
Advent 4 - 21st December 2008 Service of lessons & Carols
Some atmospheric photos of Church decorated for the service of lessons and
carols held in the afternoon. (Thanks George)
Friday 28th December 2007 -
Holy Innocents
St. Matthew 2:16-18. The Christ child is hidden from Herod while we remember
those
innocent babies murdered in the vain attempt to prevent the coming of the King
of Kings.

'Blue Peter' time again at St Mary's as the children help Fr. Yenda make a
suitable bed and
process to bless the stable in readiness for the birth of our Lord Jesus.
Christmass Day 2005
For
unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the
Lord. (Luke Ch2 Vs11)
